Richard Kiel suffers from Acromegaly By Todd Sch Richard Kiel, Andre the Giant and Tanya Angus have one thing in common. They all suffer from a hormonal condition known as acromegaly which affects the posterior pituitary gland. Acromegaly is a syndrome that results when the pituitary gland produces excess growth hormone (hGH) after epiphyseal plate closure. Acromegaly is often related with gigantism. Richard Kiel who stands 7 feet 1.5 inches tall is an American actor best known for his role as the steel-toothed Jaws in the James Bond movies The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker. He was also a star for the video game Everything or Nothing, and Mr. Larson in Happy Gilmore. André the Giant, was a French professional wrestler and actor and was was 7 feet 4 inches talls and weighed 500 lb. He was dubbed to be “The Eighth Wonder of the World.” He was the first inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame.
