Hans Reiser a convicted wife killer By Todd Schafer Convicted wife-killer Hans Reiser, a “brilliant” Linux developer was the one who led the police last Monday to what he said was the body of his wife, Nina Reiser, in the Oakland hills. This happened two days before he was to be sentenced for first-degree murder, authorities said. Reiser proclaimed his innocence from the day his estranged wife, Nina Reiser, agreed to reveal the location of her body in exchange for a deal in which he would be sentenced for second-degree murder rather than the first-degree murder conviction according to authorities. The maximum sentence Reiser could receive for second-degree murder is 15 years to life.Reiser had faced a term of 25 years to life under his first -degree murder conviction.
