Draw line in the sand for Earth Day
By Todd Schafer
There were a dozen of volunteers from Brevard who joined Fort Lauderdale artist Todd Brittingham and about 50 or so of his friends and family to sketch out the year's design for Earth day. This year's beach design included a hammer-holding arm extending from a crown hovering over Earth. "What a fantastic thing to do for Earth Day," said Spero, a Washington, D.C., native who is visiting Cape Canaveral. "Who wouldn't want to be a part of that?" The design, which can be visibly seen only from the sky, takes about two days to create and will be wiped away by the blowing wind and tide in about a day or two. "What's important is the effort of people coming together and doing something," Brittingham said. |
